Garden Bench Restoration in Shropshire – Solid Oak and Cast Iron

At Dan Tipper Custom Wood, every piece is given the care and attention it deserves.
This garden bench restoration in Shropshire began with a much-loved bench that had seen better days — rotted timber and heavily rusted cast iron legs.

I replaced the old wood with hand-shaped, beautifully curved legs made from solid oak, chosen for its strength, durability, and natural beauty. The original cast iron ends were carefully ground back to bare metal, primed, and spray-finished with hammered black paint for a lasting, weather-resistant finish.

The result is a truly unique bench that feels alive again — combining the warmth of oak with the heritage of traditional cast iron craftsmanship. Built to last and ready to be enjoyed for many more years.

Based in Prees, near Whitchurch, I offer bespoke furniture restoration and custom woodwork across Shropshire, Cheshire, and surrounding areas. Whether it's restoring a family heirloom or creating a completely new piece, every project is completed with precision, passion, and a dedication to quality.
